random...

hello there, this is me {apparently}

some other things you might not have known,

i'm not this colourful in real life {i tend to wear a lot of black}

i'd forgotten how easy it is to post to the blog {obviously, given the length of time since i last wrote}

the truth is i'm not quite sure about this blogging caper at the moment.

and i think i'm a better person when i'm not spending so much time on the computer.

but i still like pottering about on flickr {it just seems easier somehow}

i haven't read a book {not counting cookbooks} for a long time, the last one was "the history of love" {which i loved}

i really need to change that, any suggestions?

would you believe that i went to ikea on friday and came home without buying anything!!!

we are thinking about renovating our kitchen, friends refer to our current one as "classic"

i dream of owning a piece of le creuset {cream i think} but i'm not sure about what size to get... again, any recomendations would be appreciated.

is that seven things? actually its ten, not sure if they are random enough but there you go, thanks to ellie {originally, ages ago} and nicole {more recently} for the tag, i got there...

{eventually}

hello sarah!

i love this depiction of you...
funny i find blogs easier than flickr.

it's hard to top history of love... it really is.

Not so much as a Dime bar? Really?

And on the subject of Le Creuset, I recommend a marmitout. That way you get a saucepan, casserole and you can use the frying pan lid for perfect tarte tatin.

So good to read you again! On the le creuset front, I've got a large (26cm?)le creuset casserole, had it for years, wouldn't be without it. (though might search for a marmitout after that last recommendation!)

hi,

we have a large one (Creuset that is) and I too love it, but yearn for something a little less deep. We got ours 7 years ago and apart from the slightest chip in the bottom, it is perfect.

I'm reading The time travellers' Wife. Enjoying it, shall pass it along to you if you want.

reading, huh? try Erlend Loe, Naive, Super. Lovely book about a small crisis, full of lovely lists like 'animals i've seen' - you'll be smiling a lot and making your own cute lists...

Welcome back :)
Would you believe, my Mum had THE ENTIRE SET of Le Creuset in EVERY SHAPE AND SIZE in the 70's (they were bright orange but you know...). In a mad house cleaning frenzy in the late 1990's she decided that she hadn't used those "daggy old pots and pans" in ages and proceeded to donate them to Vinnies. All but the largest oval one which she figured was still handy as she didn't have another large pot. LUCKILY I snaffled this a few years ago (after giving her a severe talking to for donating the others to charity) and it's been my most favourite pot ever since. I wonder which lucky bargain hunter ended up with the set and I wonder what they paid for it? Nothing I bet. Still breaks my heart to think of it today.
Get the big one (don't know what its called).

hi everyone, thanks so much for the book recommendations and the le creuset advice... seems i'll be needing a big one AND a marmitout {love tarte tatin}

i must confess that the main reason i left ikea empty-handed was i'd had to sweet talk my husband {not good at shopping} into going to look at kitchens in the first place and i had foolishly promised to be really quick... was seriously difficult to get past the dime bars!

Please stick with the blog...it was through you I found Paperboat Press and 'Count me the stars'. It's on my list to visit your store next time I'm in Brisbane. And yes, it's clearly all about my needs!

I have been thinking of getting one too. Although I keep hearing Dansk ones http://www.rakuten.co.jp/shokki/552699/552702/
are good too. Not sure I can get them here...

And I know what you mean about flickr being easier.

As I read I kept on thinking "ditto" and "me too". Even the Ikea bit, although the number of times I've been there recently and spent huge wads of cash probably makes up for the fact that I didn't buy anything on my last reconnaissance mission there...
