a month of softies - mary monkey

here she is...my sock monkey...
named after my gran mary who loved to play scrabble and because that's what i was doing when i started sewing this month's softie...i thought i was doing well with a seven letter word on my second go...but i ended up being soundly defeated by stamp boy who scored a massive 425!
monkey was a lot of fun to make, a few false starts on her accessories... although mary would probably have preferred to be in a nice pair of slacks, i finally settled on a brown felt wrap skirt cinched at the waist with a red felt flower...

Mary is fantastic...love the expression. I can't believe just how much one pair of socks can convey. Every pic I've seen so far are wildly different from each other. The gallery will be fab. I must stop now...I made two and now I'm toying with the idea of a baby monkey. Yes. Life is out there..somewhere.

I love your MOD Monkey...that outfit is perfect. Reminds me of that character *Thoroughly Modern Millie* or in this case, Mary.
